A second instalment of
10 minute value landscapes. Not only do they look great, but they are super quick and easily made with even the most basic computer painting program. Of course they can be painted or drawn in real life too! Just allow quite a bit more time... This time around I asked year 3 students to make their sky colour different to the tints and shades of their mountains/hills colour—I like the effect this has had. You can make up your own mind by viewing the original lesson
here.
I do like the contrasting sky, it also covers another concept if you choose complementary colors. Multitasking : )
ReplyDeleteMultitasking... but I'm a bloke! ; )
DeleteGlad you like the new improved sky, thanks for saying so : )
Very nice! The change in the sky color makes the landscape pop! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Mrs C, talking about 'pop' makes me think of an idea where each student makes a grid of four landscapes (instead of one) in a pop art colour way... Thanks for the inspiration! : )
DeleteI liked this lesson when you first posted and I still like it now!! I do like the sky variation -- some look like space-scapes!! I think I still like the grayscales the best!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Christie! I like the idea of space-scapes, I might run with that when I get a chance : )
ReplyDeleteThese are reminiscent of Canadian artist Ted Harrison's work.
